Stage Baamonde – Sobreado through Santa Leocadia – Miraz
The Traditional Path belongs to the stage that goes from Baamonde to Miraz (Friol), a section that shows the wonderful landscape that surrounds the Municipallity of Guitiriz (San Alberte – Digañe).
The stage begins in the place of Lamela (Pígara) and continues towards Baamonde (Begonte) through the Guitiricenses lands.
Once we leave the national highway, let’s turn left, crossing the train track. There we found a Gothic-style bridge over the Parga River, at the idyllic sanctuary of San Alberte (Sambreixo). In the 14th century cape there is a beautiful natural space.
In the same forest where this is located, there is a fountain, which according to popular tradition is good for people with speech problems, and a beautiful cross. In this same almost magical sanctuary, a pilgrimage is held every year in May that recovers the tradition of the place. Still in the parish of Sambreixo, a not very wide path begins with a nice slope that ends at the height of O Rego da Viña. The itinerary turns right to find the place of Bandoncel.
We continue through the town of Caínzos, where we can see a beautiful cement orchestra box in the festival field. We continue the itinerary along dirt and stone paths towards the town of Digañe and Raposeira, both belonging to Santa Leocadia. Where we can see another traditional festival field and, with a small detour to the left, we can find its beautiful church. The route takes a left turn along a local road to Carballedo where Witericus hospedage is located, in case the pilgrim wants to make a stop along the way
Once we have resumed the path, we find ourselves in Aldar. From this point, we leave Terra Chá behind and arrive at the municipality of Friol.
